SingArena School is a one-to-one online teaching platform covering music and instruments, languages, school and university subjects, creative skills and practical life skills. Every teacher listed here has a verified profile, publishes their own availability and sets their own lesson length and price. Lessons happen in the browser, in a lesson room built for teaching rather than for meetings: live video plus shared tools such as a whiteboard, documents, an equation editor, a code editor, flashcards, quizzes, an on-screen keyboard, a fretboard and a live pitch monitor for musicians. Homework, materials, learning plans and progress notes stay attached to your lesson history, so both sides can see what happened last week.
How teacher verification works
Anyone can apply to teach, but nobody appears in this directory automatically. An application creates a profile in a pending state, which is not public and cannot be booked.
- Application. The teacher submits their subjects, experience, teaching languages, availability and pricing model.
- Identity and credentials. Diplomas, certificates and professional credentials can be uploaded as evidence. These files are stored privately and are not published.
- Review. A moderator checks the profile, the claimed credentials and the public text before approving. Approval, rejection and suspension are all recorded in an audit log.
- Going live. Only a profile with the status "verified" appears in this directory, in subject pages and in sitemaps. Pending, rejected, suspended and resigned profiles are never listed.
- Ongoing accountability. Students leave reviews after lessons, and reliability (attendance and cancellations) is tracked. Teachers who stop teaching can resign, which removes them from the directory.

How booking and pricing work
Teachers publish real availability, including recurring weekly slots and one-off exceptions such as holidays. When you book, the slot is validated against that calendar and against the teacher's minimum notice, and overlapping lessons are rejected by the database itself rather than by a warning message.
- Lesson lengths are typically 30, 45 or 60 minutes, chosen by the teacher.
- Each teacher sets their own price, currency and pricing mode; some list a flat rate, others price per subject or per lesson length. Prices shown on profiles are informational and agreed directly between student and teacher.
- Each teacher sets a cancellation notice period. Cancelling inside that window is recorded as a late cancellation.
- Lessons that are never started expire automatically, and completed lessons close 24 hours after the end time so records stay accurate.
- Group workshops with limited places and an automatic waiting list are available from teachers who run them.
Safety and guardian consent for learners under 18
SingArena accounts start at age 13. Anyone under 18 needs verified guardian consent before lessons can be booked, and that consent is not a checkbox.
- The learner enters a guardian's email address, and the guardian receives a unique one-time link that expires after seven days.
- The guardian confirms consent on that link. The consent text, version, timestamp, IP address and user agent are recorded as an audit trail.
- The guardian gets their own view of the learner's lessons, can cancel a booking, and can message the teacher in a separate guardian-to-teacher thread.
- The learner's private chat with their teacher remains private from the guardian; the guardian thread is deliberately separate.
- No payment card and no financial step is part of the consent flow.
Teachers cannot contact learners outside the platform's lesson and message system, moderation applies to all messages, and any teacher can be reported.
