Content Policy
Last Updated: October 9, 2026
1. Purpose
This Content Policy ("Policy") defines the rules, requirements, and restrictions governing all content submitted to, uploaded on, displayed through, or otherwise made available on the SingArena platform ("Platform"). This Policy applies to all users, and covers all forms of content including but not limited to musical compositions, sound recordings, instrumental tracks, lyrics, cover artwork, profile images, display names, karaoke recordings, duet recordings, battle entries, GoRefuge social posts (text, images, polls, hashtags), Friend Group messages, group voice channels, Stage Feed clips, chat messages, comments, reactions, and any other user-generated content.
All content on the Platform is subject to review, approval, modification, or removal by the Platform Administration at any time and for any reason. Submission of content does not guarantee publication or continued availability.
Content surfaced through the Platform's discovery features (including the "Listen to Music" experience, the Explore section, the Stage Feed and trending leaderboards) is selected algorithmically and editorially. Inclusion in featured placements, recommendations, or trending sections does not constitute endorsement by the Platform.
2. Content Submission Requirements
2.2 Karaoke Recordings, Duets, Battles and Daily Challenges
Users may create karaoke recordings, duet invitations, 1v1 battle entries, and Daily Challenge submissions using the Platform's built-in functionality. All such recordings must:
- Be genuine vocal performances created using the Platform's provided instrumental tracks (or "Sing Along" with YouTube playback where supported).
- Not contain any additional copyrighted material not provided by the Platform.
- Not contain offensive, hateful, discriminatory, or inappropriate content beyond the lyrics of the selected song.
- Not be used for commercial purposes outside the Platform without authorization.
- Be eligible for the public Recording and Duet pages (viral loop) only with the participants' implicit consent through publication; either participant may request removal at any time.
- Battle entries and Daily Challenge submissions are evaluated based on objective scoring; manipulating scores, ranks, seasonal leaderboards, or vote counts is strictly prohibited.
2.3 GoRefuge Posts and Social Content
The GoRefuge social module (text posts, image posts, polls, comments, likes, hashtags, Stage Feed clips) is moderated according to the same standards as the rest of the Platform. All GoRefuge content must:
- Comply with the Community Guidelines and the prohibited-content rules in Section 3 below.
- Pass the Platform's AI moderation pipeline (text and image). Image moderation is fail-closed: if the moderation service is unavailable, uploads are blocked rather than silently approved.
- Not include personal data of others without consent (faces, full names, contact details, addresses).
- Not impersonate other users or public figures. Reserved nicknames belonging to real-world artists are protected.
- Hashtags must not be used to promote prohibited content, illegal services, or coordinated harassment campaigns.
2.4 Friend Groups, Channels and Voice Stages
User-created Friend Groups (Discord-style communities), text channels, voice channels, karaoke rooms and Squad channels are subject to this Policy. Group owners and moderators are responsible for moderating their communities and must:
- Enforce the Community Guidelines within their groups.
- Promptly remove prohibited content and report serious violations to the Platform Administration.
- Not configure groups in ways intended to evade moderation, copyright enforcement, or age restrictions.
Voice and karaoke recordings made within group voice channels remain subject to the karaoke rules above. Squad channels are intentionally a clean Discord-style clone for gamers and do not include music features.
2.5 Direct Chat, Comments and Reactions
All content shared through 1:1 messaging, group messaging (including up to 60-second voice messages, replies and reactions), comments and reactions must:
- Comply with the Community Guidelines.
- Not contain spam, unsolicited promotions, or malicious links.
- Not contain harassment, threats, hate speech, or illegal content.
- Voice messages must comply with the same content standards as text messages.
- Images attached to chat messages are automatically optimised before upload to Cloudflare R2 and are subject to AI image moderation.
2.6 Royal Artifacts and Cosmetic Items
Royal Artifacts and other cosmetic badges awarded by the Platform are non-transferable, have no monetary value, are not redeemable for cash or goods outside the Platform, and may not be sold, traded, gifted, or used as a basis for any external transaction. Attempting to do so violates this Policy.
3. Prohibited Content
The following types of content are strictly prohibited on the Platform:
3.1 Copyright and Intellectual Property Violations
- Content that infringes upon the copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, or other intellectual property rights of any third party.
- Unauthorized reproductions, covers, or remixes of copyrighted works submitted without proper licensing or authorization.
- Stolen beats, unauthorized samples, or unlicensed loops used in compositions.
- Lyrics, melodies, or compositions plagiarized from other creators.
- Cover artwork, profile images, or post images that use copyrighted images, photographs, or designs without authorization.
- Content from external music catalogs or third-party distribution platforms submitted without proper rights.
3.2 Harmful and Offensive Content
- Content that promotes hatred, violence, or discrimination against individuals or groups based on any protected characteristic.
- Content that glorifies, promotes, or provides instructions for violence, terrorism, or criminal activity.
- Sexually explicit, pornographic, or obscene content (including AI-generated).
- Content that promotes or glorifies self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders.
- Content that exploits, endangers, or harms minors in any way (CSAM is reported to the relevant authorities).
- Content that constitutes defamation, libel, or slander.
3.3 Deceptive and Fraudulent Content
- Content submitted under false pretenses or with misleading information about authorship, ownership, or licensing.
- AI-generated music or vocals submitted as original human-created content without disclosure.
- Content designed to manipulate Platform features, scores, rankings, seasonal leaderboards, vote counts, recommendation algorithms, viral tracking events or referral rewards.
- Spam, unsolicited advertising, or promotional content in any form including songs, messages, comments, profiles, posts, or hashtags.
- Content containing malware, viruses, or any harmful code, including malicious links in posts, comments or chat.
3.4 Illegal Content
- Any content that violates applicable local, national, or international laws or regulations.
- Content related to illegal drug manufacturing, trafficking, or promotion.
- Content that facilitates fraud, identity theft, or financial crimes.
- Content infringing the privacy rights of others (doxxing, non-consensual intimate imagery).
4. Content Review and Approval Process
4.2 AI Moderation for User-Generated Content
Posts, images, comments, group content and chat attachments are moderated using AI text and image moderation services routed through the Lovable AI Gateway. Image moderation is configured fail-closed: if the moderation service is unreachable, the upload is rejected rather than published. Detection results may trigger automatic blocking, mandatory review, strikes, or content removal at the Administration's discretion.
4.3 Admin Review
The Administration reviews reported content for compliance with this Policy and applicable law and may remove, restrict or request changes to content.
4.5 Post-Publication Review
Content that has been approved and published remains subject to ongoing review. The Administration may remove or restrict access to any published content at any time if it is subsequently found to violate this Policy, if a valid copyright claim is received, or for any other reason at the Administration's sole discretion.
5. Explicit Content
Content may be flagged as explicit (18+). The Platform provides a user-level setting to hide explicit content. Content that is explicit but not marked as such may be retroactively flagged by the Administration. Intentionally mislabeling explicit content may result in enforcement action.
6. Rights and Ownership
6.1 User Ownership and Platform Rights
Users retain ownership of their content and must hold the rights necessary to share it. The license for hosting and displaying user content is described in the Terms of Service.
6.3 No Permanent Hosting Obligation
The Platform is not obligated to host, store, or maintain any content permanently. Content may be removed, archived, or made unavailable at any time for operational, legal, or any other reason. The Platform does not guarantee the availability of any content.
6a. Photographs, Reels and Third-Party Image Rights
The Platform allows users to upload photographs (Profile Photo Gallery, up to 10 photos per profile), short-form vertical video (Reels, 15 seconds, in the Stage Hub), Stories (ephemeral 24h posts), and Highlight Reels (auto-generated from karaoke sessions with a score ≥ 70). The following rules apply to all such uploads in addition to the general Section 2 and Section 6 requirements:
- You must own or have an enforceable right to use every element of any photograph or video you upload, including the underlying photographic work, any depicted artwork, branding, logos, and any background audio.
- You may not upload photographs or video depicting an identifiable third party without that person’s informed, freely given consent. Where the depicted person is a minor, you additionally need consent from the holder of parental responsibility. This rule applies regardless of where the original photograph was taken.
- You may not upload content that exposes the precise home, school, or workplace location of an identifiable third party. EXIF location metadata (GPS coordinates, device serial numbers) is stripped client-side by our compressor before upload; do not attempt to circumvent this by hard-coding location into the image.
- Group photographs of public figures taken in clearly public contexts (concerts, conferences, sporting events) are permitted within reasonable journalistic, satirical, or fan-community norms; commercial use of a depicted person’s likeness requires their permission.
- Reels and Highlight Reels reusing third-party audio (other than audio you produced through SingArena karaoke) require all necessary permissions for that audio. Karaoke-derived Highlight Reels reuse the audio you generated under your Premium-tier or Free-tier session and are permitted by default.
- Reports of unauthorised image, likeness, or trademark use can be submitted from the content menu (long-press / “⋯”) or to info@singarena.com. Verified violations are removed promptly and may result in account-level enforcement under Section 7.
7. Consequences of Violations
Violations of this Content Policy may result in:
- Immediate removal of the offending content without prior notice.
- Rejection of pending content submissions.
- Strike (warning) notification to the user's account.
- Temporary or permanent restriction of content submission privileges.
- Temporary suspension (ban) of the user's account.
- Permanent termination (ban) of the user's account.
- Reporting to law enforcement or rights holders where applicable.
- Legal action to recover damages caused by the violation.
The Platform reserves the right to determine the appropriate response to any violation. All enforcement decisions are final and are made at the sole discretion of the Administration.
8. Reporting Content Violations
Users who believe that content on the Platform violates this Content Policy may report it through the Platform's reporting features. General reports can be filed from user profiles, posts, comments and content listings. Copyright-specific violation reports for songs can be submitted from the player view, and a public DMCA submission form is available at /dmca-report. All reports are reviewed by the Administration and surfaced in the dedicated admin moderation queue. For copyright-specific complaints and DMCA takedown notices, please refer to our Copyright & DMCA Policy. You may also contact us at: info@singarena.com.
9. Changes to This Policy
We reserve the right to modify this Content Policy at any time. Changes will be posted on the Platform with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
