The Weeknd's Record-Breaking Stadium Run Meets a K-Pop Surprise in South Korea

JENNIE joins The Weeknd for the first live performance of 'One of the Girls' at Goyang Stadium, as Boxscore confirms his tour has now grossed over $1 billion.

A Fan Favorite Finally Takes the Stage

For fans at Goyang Stadium in South Korea, Thursday night delivered something no other stop on the After Hours Til Dawn Tour had offered: the first-ever live performance of "One of the Girls." JENNIE, the BLACKPINK member who features on the 2023 track alongside The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp, made a surprise appearance during the Korean leg of the tour, turning a stadium show into an unexpected reunion. Lily-Rose Depp, who also appears on the recorded version, was not part of the performance.

The moment arrived during the two-night Goyang engagement — the Weeknd's first return to South Korea since 2018 — which sold approximately 108,000 tickets across the Oct. 7 and 8 shows. The song itself has had an unusual life. Released as part of The Idol Episode 4 (Music From the HBO Original Series), it became a sleeper hit well after the series aired, eventually joining Spotify's Billions Club and peaking at No. 51 on the Billboard Hot 100. Taking it to a stadium stage in the country of one of its collaborators felt less like a tour gimmick and more like a full-circle moment.

The Numbers Behind a Historic Run

"One of the Girls" was not the only headline coming out of the Weeknd's camp. Billboard Boxscore figures for August revealed that the After Hours Til Dawn Tour has now grossed more than $1 billion through its shows in Lisbon on Sept. 5-6. Another 17 dates remain to be reported, which could add an estimated $125-150 million to that total. For a tour that kicked off in July 2022, the milestone places the run in rare company.

August was particularly staggering: the Weeknd sold 995,000 tickets that month — more than any other act — coming tantalizingly close to the one-million mark and rewriting the record for the biggest one-month attendance figure in Boxscore history, surpassing Harry Styles' 967,000 from June 2023 and his own 892,000 from July. He grossed $146.7 million in August, an 18% rise over the previous month, even as BTS overtook him atop the Top Tours ranking with $171.7 million and 801,000 tickets over 12 shows.

Much of that August revenue came from a five-night stay at London's Wembley Stadium, which drew as many as 73,600 fans per night. Those shows compounded to $58.2 million and 368,000 tickets, finishing at No. 1 on the Top Boxscores chart. Additional stops in Madrid, Dublin, Warsaw and Stockholm littered the middle region of the same chart.

Asia, and Then the Finish Line

The tour, which supports After Hours (2020), Dawn FM (2022) and Hurry Up Tomorrow (2025) — all of which claimed the first or second slots on the Billboard 200 upon release — is currently making its way through Asia on its final leg. The Goyang shows were part of that closing chapter, with the tour scheduled to conclude on Nov. 5 in Kuala Lumpur. The fact that the Weeknd is still setting attendance records more than three years into a run that began in 2022 speaks to the scale of the production and the durability of his catalog.

JENNIE's Own Winning Streak

The surprise appearance also highlighted a remarkable solo stretch for JENNIE. Her debut album Ruby, released in March 2025, opened at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 — her highest-charting solo album on the tally. She has continued releasing music since, including the Fallen Angel EP in August 2026, and her remix of Tame Impala's "Dracula" has become a major Billboard hit, peaking at No. 5 on the Hot 100 so far. Sharing a stadium stage with the Weeknd in her home country fits neatly into a year that has increasingly positioned her as a solo force beyond the BLACKPINK framework.

What Comes Next

With the After Hours Til Dawn Tour winding down in Asia, the Weeknd's focus will inevitably shift toward whatever follows Hurry Up Tomorrow — the album that closed out the trilogy he began with After Hours. For now, the tour's legacy is already secure: a billion-dollar gross, a record-setting month of attendance, and a setlist that can accommodate a surprise K-pop guest without missing a beat. As for "One of the Girls," the song has now been heard in stadiums from the Spotify Billions Club stage to Goyang. It may not be the biggest hit in the Weeknd's catalog, but it has become one of the most unexpectedly resonant.
