P-pop boy band Alamat is preparing a special homecoming moment at their upcoming ALX concert, with each member set to honor their native province in solo performances.

A Legendary Homecoming

Alamat is turning their upcoming concert into a celebration of the Philippines' rich regional diversity. The P-pop boy band is set to pay tribute to their respective hometowns during solo performances at their “ALX (ALAMAT: The Legendary Experience)” concert, scheduled for Nov. 8 at the New Frontier Theater. The news, reported by ABS-CBN, reveals a deeply personal angle for a group whose entire artistic identity is built on representing the many languages and cultures of the archipelago.

For a boy band that has always stood out for singing in their own native languages, this concert segment feels less like a gimmick and more like a natural extension of their mission. Since their formation, Alamat has been defined by its multilingual approach, with members hailing from different regions of the country. Their upcoming solo stages will reportedly allow each member to shine individually while spotlighting the places that shaped them.

The Six Pillars of Alamat

Alamat is composed of six members: Taneo, Mo, Jao, Tomás, R-Ji, and Alas. Each member represents a different part of the Philippines, a detail that has been central to the group's branding since their debut. The group was formed in 2020 by Viva Artists Agency and Ninuno Media, with a clear vision of creating a boy band that could represent the country's vast cultural landscape.

Their name, which translates to "legend" in English, reflects their ambition to preserve cultural heritage through music. As the members explained in a past interview, legends are stories passed down to the youth, and they aspire to be figures that future generations look up to. Their fandom, known as Magiliw—a Tagalog word meaning "affectionate"—has embraced this mission wholeheartedly.

From "Kbye" to Global Recognition

Alamat debuted on February 14, 2021, with the multilingual R&B single "Kbye." The track immediately set them apart in the OPM scene, entering the Billboard Next Big Sound chart and signaling the arrival of a group willing to push creative boundaries. Their early years were marked by intense training and a slow, deliberate build of their discography.

In October 2022, the group released their debut EP, Pasulong, which featured the single "Maharani" (translating to "Great Queen"). The song earned them Best R&B Recording at the 36th Awit Awards, a significant validation of their artistry. A year later, in November 2023, they dropped their first full-length album, Isapuso ("Take to Heart"), which included singles like "Day and Night" and "Dayang" ("Princess").

The album received a 3.5-star rating from Filipino news organization Rappler, showing that critics were paying attention to their growth. But it was their second album, Destino ("Destination"), released on November 21, 2025, that truly expanded their reach. The album, featuring singles like "Hiraya" ("I Wish") and "LuzViMinda," received an impressive 8/10 score from the British music magazine The Line of Best Fit, a rare feat for a Filipino act.

Breaking New Ground in France

The group's international profile continues to rise. In July 2026, it was announced that Alamat will perform at the A Festival in Paris in October, making them the first P-pop group ever to perform in France. This milestone comes just months before their upcoming ALX concert in Manila, highlighting a busy period of global and local activity for the band.

The ALX concert, with its focus on hometown tributes, arrives at a fitting moment. As Alamat prepares to represent the Philippines on a French stage, they are simultaneously reminding their Filipino fans of the specific regions and cultures that make their music unique. It's a full-circle moment for a group that has always worn its roots proudly.

What to Expect at ALX

While full details of the solo performances have yet to be revealed, the concept suggests a concert experience that goes beyond the typical boy band showcase. Fans can expect a mix of individual showcases and group performances, with each solo stage offering a window into the member's personal heritage.

The New Frontier Theater has hosted numerous P-pop events, but Alamat's approach—blending personal storytelling with high-energy performances—could set a new standard for how groups connect with their audiences. The event promises to be a celebration not just of Alamat's music, but of the diverse cultures that make up the Philippines.

Tickets for the Nov. 8 concert are expected to be in high demand, given the group's growing fanbase and the unique nature of the show. For the Magiliw, it's a chance to see their idols in a more intimate, reflective light—one that honors the legends and stories that shaped them.
