His commercial peak included solo hits such as the Billboard Hot 100-topping Give It To Me, as well as the multi-platinum singles The Way I Are and Apologize, while his catalog expanded to include work for Michael Jackson, Jay-Z, and Madonna. With four Grammy Awards from twenty-two nominations, his pervasive influence has been noted for setting contemporary pop trends and incorporating unconventional sounds into chart-topping hits.
