The Cranberries
Biography
The Cranberries were an Irish alternative rock band formed in Limerick in 1989, fronted by the distinctive vocals of Dolores O'Riordan. Their sound masterfully blended indie rock, dream pop, and folk rock elements, characterized by jangling guitars and O'Riordan’s ethereal yet powerful delivery. The band achieved global stardom with their 1993 debut album *Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't We?* and the iconic 1994 follow-up *No Need to Argue*, which featured the enduring anthem "Zombie." With nearly 50 million albums sold worldwide, they remain one of the best-selling alternative acts of the 1990s, earning numerous awards and leaving a lasting influence on the alternative and rock landscapes before disbanding in 2019 after O'Riordan's passing.
