Eraserheads
Biography
Formed in Quezon City in 1989, Eraserheads are a seminal Filipino rock band widely hailed as the Beatles of the Philippines for their profound cultural impact. Their early albums, including the landmark *Ultraelectromagneticpop!* and *Cutterpillow*, spearheaded a second wave of 1990s Philippine rock with a melodic, guitar-driven sound, while later works like *Sticker Happy* and *Carbon Stereoxide* incorporated electronic and art rock experimentation. As the only Philippine act to receive MTV Asia’s Viewers Choice Award at the 1997 MTV Video Music Awards, they achieved legendary status before their 2002 breakup. Following successful solo careers, the band reunited in 2008 and continues to influence generations through sporadic tours and their enduring legacy as architects of modern Filipino music.
